Mainland Rally Champion 1977 in Mazda RX3. 2004 London to Sydney in Corolla 5th overall. 5th Overall May 2006 Carrera Sudamericana Rally (South America TWE Marathon Rally). Gore Rally 2006 in the VW.

Ian's worst moment in rallying was "Losing my nerve and withdrawing from a rally in 1988..

Ian's best moment in rallying was 5th overall in both marathon rallies 2004 & 2006 (with no service crew)
